HI9033 & HI9034 |
| |
The HI 9033 or HI 9034 will satisfy all field application needs. All conductivity
readings, from de-ionized water to brine, are performed through the
rugged 4-ring potentiometric probe. Results are given in uS/cm in the HI 9033 and in TDS in the HI 9034.

What is a conductivity meter?
Water conductivity is tested by such a meter. Better to ask, what is water conductivity?
The conductivity of water is the measure of the water's ability to conduct electricity. Electricity is conducted through water by the dissolved solids in solution. The conductivity test requires a small electrical current transmitted between the poles of the conductivity meter's probe.
Conductivity is improved by higher temperature and higher dissolved solids of the solution. Conductivity and temperature are intimately related.
Automatic temperature control or compensation (ATC) is now the norm for modern conductivity meters such as those provided by the Hanna hi 9033 and hi 9034. Modern conductivity meters as the Hanna meters use automatic temperature control or compensation (ATC).
Conductivity units are presented in two forms, micro Siemens per centimeter, uS/cm, know as EC and total dissolved solids, mg/l known as TDS. Conductivity and TDS are directly proportional. That proportion is usually 1 uS/cm EC to 0.5 mg/l TDS.
